Antennas

Main Shack Antennas : I mainly use wire antennas for HF since I like to keep my antennas stealthy. I have a couple of 130 foot long EFHW-8010 Multi-Band End Fed Half Wave Antennas made by My Antennas that I use as well as a Buckmaster OCF dipole. The end fed that I use the most has the feed point up at about 50 feet and the far end up about 70 feet. I am really satisfied with the end fed antennas, they seem to work really well and even though I have them mounted in the clear, the wire blends in well with the tree line and they are not very noticable at all. There are some good reviews of this antenna at eHam.com that you can read by clicking here. I also have a Solarcon Imax 2000 vertical for 10 meters , a Hustler Vertical for 2 meters, a Alpha Promaster Sr and a Gap Titan DX that I have up on surplus military masts in the edge of the woods.

Here are the locations of my antennas:

I have the coax running out from the shack to a copper plate with lightning arresters attached to a  copper ground rod driven 8 feet into the ground.
I have the whole assembly covered using a fake plastic boulder.

I also have my wire antennas grounded with separate ground rods and line isolators.
